Francine Shapiro

Who is she?

Francine Shapiro is a psychologist and researcher who developed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a type of therapy that helps people deal with conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Shapiro wrote many articles and books on EMDR and received many awards for her work. She is also founded a nonprofit organization that provides disaster response and training worldwide. Dr. Shapiro was a speaker at psychology conferences around the world and won several awards for her contributions to trauma psychology. She passed away on June 16, 2019. (source)
